Digital learning has revolutionized education by enabling flexible, accessible, and learner-centered teaching and learning environments. The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has further accelerated this transformation through intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment, predictive analytics, and personalized educational experiences. AI-powered technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, virtual assistants, and immersive learning environments are redefining how knowledge is created, delivered, and assessed. While digital learning enhances educational accessibility beyond traditional classroom boundaries, AI improves learning efficiency by tailoring instructional content to individual learner needs. However, the widespread integration of AI in education also raises important concerns regarding data privacy, algorithmic bias, ethical governance, academic integrity, digital inequality, and the evolving role of teachers. Educational institutions must therefore establish balanced policies that promote responsible AI adoption while preserving human values, critical thinking, and inclusive learning. This chapter examines the relationship between digital learning and artificial intelligence, explores emerging technologies, analyzes opportunities and challenges, and discusses policy implications for future-ready education systems. It argues that the successful integration of AI with digital learning will create intelligent, equitable, and sustainable educational ecosystems capable of preparing learners with the competencies required for the twenty-first century.
