Banaphul's play 'Srimadhusudan' is a rich biography of a literary personality with extraordinary talent like Michael Madhusudan Dutta. Although the playwright admits that many parts or characters of the play are fictional, he has elevated this play to the truth of literature. The credit of the playwright Banaphul is that he has presented Madhusudan in the play 'Srimadhusudan' just like the human being. He has shown his unparalleled talent. We see in the book that he is writing and directing three books at the same time. Although he was extravagant and arbitrary, his positive side was not less. He was humane, indebted to Bengali Literature, his compassion and responsibility were boundless.
In historical biographical plays, an attempt is made to portray the picture of that time by referring to various historical events by adopting a person famous in history. Although these plays depict intelligent supernatural events, miracles are not usually present in them. Shakespeare's plays in English are excellent examples of this. However, historical biographical dramas require not only the mention of historical events, but also the playwright's independent thinking. The playwright makes the incomplete chapter of history vivid with his imagination. However, he can never deny history and present something new. In such plays, the playwright generally maintains the historical facts and truth and gives the historical character described along with the environment and situation of that era a realistic form. The creation of historical flavor is not the only main idea of historical biography or character drama, but the real thing is to write a humane realistic biography.
